自7月底创下的纪录高点开始，纽元头寸已平仓，以至于新的空头头寸已接近2015年中期的极端水平。因此在同一时期内，纽元一直是兑美元表现最差的主要货币，这并不奇怪。
现在的问题是，市场对新西兰第一任领导人Winston Peters支持工党组建政府的决定是否过于悲观。但移民将自近期极端水平减速，且新西兰联储（RBNZ）也已上调通胀预期，表明政策制定者已变得更加强硬，暗示纽元汇率过于疲软。
预计2018年纽元/美元将于0.70-0.72区间内交投。
