关于缩减购债，鲍威尔强调，美联储尚未就缩债时间做出任何决定。何时开始缩减购债规模将取决于相关数据，任何变动前都会提前通知。
COMEX 12月黄金期货收盘大涨31.20美元，涨幅1.7%，报1835.80美元/盎司。数据显示，根据最活跃的合约来看，这是黄金期货自6月16日以来最高价，也是自5月6日以来最大的单日百分比涨幅。相比黄金，银价涨势更加显著。COMEX 9月白银期货周四收盘大涨91美分，涨幅3.6%，报25.78美元，创7月16日以来最高收盘价。此前银价周三上涨0.9%。
ActivTrades高级分析师埃Ricardo Evangelista在一份报告中写道，美元周四下跌也帮助支撑了以美元计价的黄金价格。
