上周原油庫存連續四周錄得增加，而世界多地新冠疫情有抬頭之勢，本周兩大原油期貨連續四個交易日下跌。周五(3月19日)意大利政府批準針對新冠肺炎疫情的首輪經濟刺激計劃，規模為320億歐元，將向那些遭受疫情衝擊最嚴重的公司提供救助。兩大原油期貨當日自本周的跌勢中小幅反彈。
美國能源信息署(EIA)公布的數據顯示，截至3月12日當周，原油庫存增加239.6萬桶，為連續四周增加，增幅略低於市場預期的270萬桶。此前，美國石油協會預計庫存減少了100萬桶。精煉油和汽油庫存也分別小幅增加25.5和47.2萬桶，而市場原本預計這兩種油的庫存會分別減少260萬桶和350萬桶。精煉油和汽油庫存增加反映美國煉油廠正從2月的寒潮中複蘇。Capital Economics在一份報告中指出，煉油廠正在“快速複產”，並表示“雖然煉油廠複產，但上周美國原油庫存仍在增加。”
